920x1240Fascinating San Francisco Chronicle article on the Republic of Cascadia and the politics (or lack thereof) of decentralization in the Pacific Northwest. Predictably, the writer doesn’t take the idea of secession all that seriously, except for the card-stacked Power Point presentation by the “gimlet eyed” Dr. Killjoy. The reality re: nonviolent secession – it will take a serious political effort over many years, be it here in the once-and-future Vermont republic or the Pacific Northwest. One thing we and the writer agree on – revolutionary spirits in the form of good beer would certainly help. Free Vermont, and long live the UNtied States!
