As he did with his four-part doc series on Bill Gates, Independent researcher James Corbett provides a valuable public service in this three-part series on HOW and WHY Big Oil Conquered the World, followed by “Data Is The New Oil.” Corbett takes the viewer back to the mid 19th century, chronicling the Rockefellers’ monopolistic control over the world’s oil resources; the 20th century creation of the Eugenics and Technocracy movements, the 1948 birth of the United Nations, the UN-supported emergence of modern environmentalism with its obsessive focus on “anthropogenic CO2 driven climate change,” and the Internet’s arrival and subsequent attempts via networked Big Data, to digitize and control all living creatures and global systems. All of these historical phenomena have more in common than one may realize, and Corbett does good work here unpacking the various “red threads” of this story.
