Publisher’s Note: Melissa and Aaron at Truthstream Media have released their new documentary film on China’s so-called “social credit” system. As we’ve long argued, China is the country to watch for this emerging “brave new world” of predictive behavioral futures management via the merger of AI, algorithms, big data and older forms of social credit such as bank, credit card and various forms of public data. Troubling. Important. Meanwhile, VICE provides a useful overview of China’s facial recognition software and its new SKYNET program – watching the Chinese in their interviews reference “Terminator” and “Black Mirror” with no apparent sense of irony is telling.
