October 4, 2020Publisher’s Note: Many Vermonters have asked us to explain “The Great Reset,” referring to the COVID-19 catalyzed (potential) transformation of the 20th century oil-powered global economy into a 21st century “green” and “sustainable” global economy via a “4th Industrial Revolution” powered by a 5G-networked “Internet Of Things.” The goal, as we concluded in our COVID EMPIRE series of last spring, appears to be a TransHumanist Technocracy – the reinvention of sapiens as cyborgs and the control of all living things via the Digital. As he did with his four-part doc series on Bill Gates, Independent researcher James Corbett provides a valuable public service in this three-part series on HOW and WHY Big Oil Conquered the World, followed by “Data Is The New Oil.” Corbett takes the viewer back to the mid 19th century, chronicling the Rockefellers’ monopolistic control over the world’s oil resources; the 20th century creation of the Eugenics and Technocracy movements, the 1948 birth of the United Nations, the UN-supported emergence of modern environmentalism with its obsessive focus on “anthropogenic CO2 driven climate change,” and the Internet’s arrival and subsequent attempts via networked Big Data, to digitize and control all living creatures and global systems. All of these historical phenomena have more in common than one may realize, and Corbett does good work here unpacking the various “red threads” of this story.
