Greetings, Alexander!
Dr. Rob Williams, environmental historian, here at the University of Vermont.
My Vermont research colleagues and I read said MEDIUM essay on geoengineering with great interest, given our multiyear research and publication of a 10 part series called
OUR GEOENGINEERING AGE.
I am curious – while you mention the
USM’s Project Popeye during the Vietnam Era, you make no mention of current USG geoengineering efforts overhead on an ongoing daily basis, efforts that are well documented by citizen scientists, engineers, and observers across our country.
Why not?
As an aside – you spend some time focusing on China and their GE work in your article. I’ve traveled and worked all over China this past decade, and I have spent weeks on the ground there from the western ‘Stans border east to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, and the Chinese geoengineering program pales in comparison to what’s happening in the US – the PRC is just way more open about their activities than our own USG is.
I welcome your wisdom here, and encourage you to take a look at our 10 part series.
Happy to talk further, and again, thanks for your fine work,
Rob Williams, Ph.D.
