Publisher’s Note: As Vermont nationalists, we don’t have a dawg in the US 2020 election fight. And! Fellow Vermonter and 2020 Democratic frontrunner (in terms of comprehensive polling data and grassroots campaign donations) Bernie Sanders is once again in the national spotlight over a manufactured dust up in which Senator Sanders allegedly stated in a closed door 2018 meeting with Elizabeth Warren that women and campaigning for president don’t mix. Anyone familiar with Bernie’s 40 year track record supporting the notion of women running for president knows this allegation is ridiculous on its face. From a “how #fakenews is manufactured and deployed into the public consciousness” point of view, however, this is a fascinating story. Not since the Washington Post’s December 2016 “Russians hacked The US power grid through a Vermont utility” fake news story have we had so much fun tracking fake news from the Vermont frontier. Jimmy Dore and his LA crew of “jag off night club comedians” break it down here in fine style. Here’s a tour.
