February 12, 2020Kudos to the courageous US indy journalist, filmmaker, and citizen activist Abby Martin for challenging the state of Georgia’s anti-BDS / anti-free speech “gag law” legislation. We here at Vermont Independent co-founded the International Critical Media Literacy conference a few years ago in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia. That the state of Georgia is no longer supporting ANY professionally employed US citizen’s free speech rights on the BDS issue while working within GA state lines is both legally unconstitutional and ethically appalling (as is true for the close to 30 other states that have imposed such restrictions on free speech re: BDS.) Go, Abby, go – free speech, open debate, and free Vermont!
